The Omni Homestead is situated on 3,000 acres in the Allegheny Highlands and is one of America’s highest rated resorts. Thomas Jefferson and 21 other presidents strolled around the grounds, as have many other American luminaries. Built in 1766 as a resort to “take the waters,” the hotel and its spa have grown to include three championship golf courses, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, tennis, swimming, skeet and trap shooting, falconry, skiing, snowboarding and ice skating.

As one of the most elegant and gracious resorts in the country, The Homestead’s accommodations perfectly reflect the Southern hospitality for which it is renowned. Each of the 483 distinctive guest rooms and suites is beautifully appointed in rich fabrics and furnishings, stocked with down pillows and featherbeds that are plumped to perfection to ensure a superb night’s sleep. Artwork has been hand-selected to bring to life the history of Virginia, and rooms and suites are outfitted with every modern convenience, from WiFi to flat-screen TVs. The special details evoke a quieter era, including sun porches and working fireplaces in many of the suites.
